"The Commission on Science and Technology is vital to our efforts to keep New Jersey's economy on the cutting edge, and Sherrie has helped us take important steps towards achieving that long-term objective," Governor Corzine said. "We will seek out the most talented candidate to replace her to ensure that the commission continues to promote investment in the high tech ventures that are going to fuel economic growth in the coming years."
The Commission is developing the procedures and guidelines for the national search and expects it to be conducted on a relatively expeditious timetable.
Preische has served as executive director of the Commission since 2002.
Established in 1985, the Commission on Science and Technology is responsible for the development and oversight of policies and programs promoting science and technology research and entrepreneurship in New Jersey.
