In the introduction, Duvdevani said that in the past, many of the Authority's IT investments have been made "in the absence of an enterprise-wide vision and without the clear benefit of information technology governance processes or an enterprise architecture. This often resulted in disparate technology platforms and stovepiped applications supporting similar business functions in different departments."
Duvdevani said that the adoption of the strategic plan by NYCHA "has created a mandate for me and NYCHA's Information Technology organization to focus our efforts and adhere to the processes and plans outlined in the IT Strategy.
"NYCHA's Information Technology Strategic Plan provides a broad overview of information technology goals over the next five years as well as a roadmap of prioritized initiatives we are undertaking over the next twenty-four months, a number of which are already in progress. This roadmap will be updated annually to reflect NYCHA's evolving information technology portfolio.
