Description: City of Everett, Washington Specifications for Seismic Upgrade, Cleaning, and Repainting the Interior & Exterior of One 200,000 Gallon Steel Elevated Tank 'Olympic Elevated Tank W.O. #UT-2768-16 Notice to Contractors Notice is hereby given that sealed proposals will be received by the City Clerk at the City Clerk's Office, 1st Floor, Wall Street Building, 2930 Wetmore, Everett, Washington 98201, until 2:00 p.m., on Tuesday, 6/25/2002 for the following waterworks improvements, described more completely in the specifications and contract documents, entitled City of Everett, Washington, Seismic Upgrade, Cleaning, and Repainting the Interior & Exterior of One 200,000 Gallon Steel Elevated Tank, `Olympic Elevated Tank,' W.O. #UT-2768-16and will then and there be opened and publicly read aloud. The engineer's estimate for this projector is $814,000. Olympic Elevated Tank: The Work covered under this Contract shall consist of the seismic upgrades to the 200,000 gallon steel elevated tank in Everett, Washington, the complete cleaning and repaint of the interior surfaces, and the complete cleaning and repainting of the exterior surfaces with containment. Work also includes installation of new column foundations, new grout, a new target, gage, a new sample tap, an additional tap in the riser, a 4 in. drain line, and electrical and telemetry wiring and conduit; modification of the existing diagonal bracing, and struts; removal of the existing column foundations, grout, and target gage; relocation of the existing drain basin and connection piping; legal disposal of all hazardous wastes; restoration of site grading; tree removal and trimming; and other miscellaneous and appurtenant work required to complete this item of work as required under the provisions of any permits, and specifications and contract documents. The Bidders' attention is directed to the specifications for a complete description of the Work and the Project. The City of Everett plans to engage Tank Industry Consultants or another designated representative of the Owner, to perform Fulltime Observation of the seismic upgrade repair Work, cleaning, and painting. Copies of the evaluation reports including color reproductions of the photographs may be obtained from the City of Everett (Mr. James T. Ozanne, P.E.) by United States Priority Mail Service, for a non-refundable sum of seventy-five dollars ($75.00) each. Next day delivery service by United States Express Mail Service, Federal Express, or UPS ext Day Mail will be available for a non-refundable surcharge of twenty dollars ($20.00) above the cost of the report. Checks for the copies of the evaluation report are to be made out to the City of Everett and delivered to City Engineer, 3200 Cedar Street, Everett, Washington 98201. The Bidders'S attention is directed to a change in the reporting of subcontractors at bid time. The Bidder is to list all subcontractors on the proposal who will be performing more than 10% of the contract. See the Proposal Section for the Subcontractor's form. The Bidders' attention is directed to the Bidder'S Information Statement where the Bidder must provide certain information regarding their experience and qualifications. The Bidder, in conjunction with their nominated subcontractors, shall list at least 3 projects successfully completed within the last 5 years that are similar in character and in magnitude to that required in this Project. Similar work shall be defined as rehabilitation and re-coating of potable water tanks constructed of steel. Failure to complete these sections or the lack of acceptable experience entitles the City to find the Bidder non-responsive or non-responsible. A11 proposals must be made ,upon the regular forms provided in the Proposal Section of the contract documents and must be accompanied by a bid bond or certified check in an amount not less than 5% of the successful bidder to guarantee faithful performance of the contract. The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and waive any irregularities or informalities. No bidder may withdraw his bid after the hour set for the opening thereof. The City further reserves the right to make the bid award as deemed in the best interest of the City. The right is reserved by the City to postpone the award for a period of forty-five (45) days after bid opening. The Contractor will be required to comply with all local, State, and Federal laws and regulations pertaining to equal employment opportunities.
