Palm Beach County Florida Fire-Rescue Integrates Wireless Communication

Solutions Assist Emergency Personnel and Dispatchers

The Palm Beach County, Fla., Fire-Rescue (PBCFR) has successfully transitioned to a comprehensive suite of Intergraph Corporation's emergency incident management solutions. This implementation will assist personnel in providing fire and rescue protection for approximately 1 million residents in Palm Beach County and the surrounding communities.

The PBCFR now has the I/Radio interface which provides first responders with numerous benefits to save time and facilitate faster and better coordinated response capabilities such as when the operator dispatches an event, a tone alert is automatically sent to every handheld radio associated with the units assigned to that event, making the team members aware of the incident. Additionally, the system provides automated and manual management of talk groups, which allows users to elevate a talk group to high priority and isolate the event details and radio traffic from the normal talk group. This isolation allows the dispatcher to manage the high priority event without impacting the normal talk group traffic

"As a large public safety organization with a broad service area, Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue faces a variety of unique challenges," said Ben Eazzetta, president of Intergraph Security, Government & Infrastructure. "Through our technology offerings, and our partner relationships, we are able to provide PBCFR with a suite of solutions to help save lives today, and prepare for the needs of tomorrow."
