Santa Clara, Calif., Awards IT Outsourcing Extension

$4 million contract to run through June 30, 2006

Affiliated Computer Services, Inc., announced last week that it has been awarded a one-year, enterprise information technology (IT) outsourcing contract extension by the city of Santa Clara, Calif. The agreement, valued at more than $4 million, runs from July 1, 2005 through June 30, 2006.

Under the terms of the contract, ACS will manage the city's IT operations and provide a range of IT services. These services include data-center management, help-desk support, applications support, network management, desktop support, and other consultative services to help the city continue efforts to align its IT operations with its business objectives.

"The city and ACS have had a productive relationship for many years and we are pleased to continue our mutual efforts to enhance and upgrade the city's existing technology environment," said Ron Garratt, the city's assistant city manager and acting information technology director.

Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, the city of Santa Clara serves a population of nearly 109,000 and has a long tradition of providing quality public services and a well-maintained infrastructure.
