State CIOs Land in Washington

2006 policy issues for federal action focus on cybersecurity planning and reforms in federal funding for state IT projects

State CIOs from around the nation converged on Washington, D.C., today to participate in the National Association of State Chief Information Officers' (NASCIO) sixth annual D.C. fly-in.

During the fly-in, state CIOs will have the opportunity to meet with members of Congress, committee staff and executives from federal executive branch agencies to discuss critical issues and emerging trends affecting state information technology (IT). NASCIO's 2006 policy issues for federal action focus on cybersecurity planning and reforms in federal funding for state IT projects.

"The fly-in provides an opportunity for state CIOs to collaborate with Congressional leaders from their respective states on important IT policy issues, lend our voice to the debates and to share knowledge and expertise with officials from all levels of government," said NASCIO President and Wisconsin CIO Matt Miszewski.
