State of Texas Collaboration Goes Online

State saves money by collaborating online

Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR) Telecommunications Services Division awarded Sprint a two-year contract to provide collaborative services to the various state agencies to enhance their communication options. Sprint's collaborative service portfolio includes audio conferencing and Sprint Online Presenter(SM).

"The contract allows the state to continue to expand conferencing services for state agencies and governmental entities to support growing needs for collaborative services without adding infrastructure costs to the state," said Eddie Equivel, director of telecommunications at DIR.

Sprint Online Presenter is a Web-based data conferencing tool that can allow up to 2,500 participants to exchange ideas and attend a virtual conference in real time. Additionally, by utilizing audio conferencing, Texas state agencies can increase productivity by connecting employees from all over the state in real time, thus reducing travel time and expenses.
