Sweden Launches New Gateway to Government Services

The new Swedish government services portal replaces the previous SverigeDirekt.se site, which has been discontinued. While SverigeDirekt was merely a directory of public agencies, the new portal is intentions-based. However, it is intended to be a starting point for people looking for public-sector information and services. The portal offers useful links and contact details for a great number of public bodies, including the Swedish parliament, government, county councils, municipalities and authorities, social insurance offices and universities. It also features a search engine allowing users to perform searches across all the Swedish public-sector websites. The new portal is managed by the Statskontoret, however, the responsibility for the information published lies with the authorities to which the portal provides links.

The site recommends another portal for speakers of languages other than Swedish.
