"Todd Sander is a committed state and local government leader with an impressive record of success wherever he has been," said Doug Robinson, Executive Director of the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO), which is the lead organization in the All Alert Pilot. "His technical and management skills, as well as his deep concern for the safety of our nation's children, will make him a critical part of both the AMBER Alert Portal and All Alert pilot's success."
During the last 10 years, Mr. Sander has developed and implemented public policy initiatives in state and local government in areas including integration of criminal justice networks, intelligent transportation and multi-jurisdictional geographic information systems. He has also been responsible for directing public information and media relations activity. As Deputy CIO of the State of Washington he oversaw the development of statewide information technology policy and was an early pioneer of electronic delivery of government services. Mr. Sander led a team of 430 employees, deploying a budget of $100 million to assess markets, customer needs and satisfaction, deploy pilot technologies and create new service initiatives.
Before his tenure with the state of Washington, Mr. Sander worked as a senior consultant for Booz-Allen & Hamilton, providing technical advice to Department of Defense client agencies regarding real-time counter-narcotics operations. Previously, he served as an operations manager for the U.S. ARMY Intelligence Center at Fort Huachuca, Arizona, and as a Russian linguist for the U.S. Air Force.
