U.S. Department of State Announces "Aid to Africa" Web Site

To support the discussions of poverty and debt reduction for African countries during the G-8 summit in Scotland next week

The U.S. Department of State has launched a new Web page, U.S. Aid to Africa, in both English and French, on its international Web site.

Created as a central source for information, the page highlights the breadth and depth of assistance the United States government provides to the African continent to reduce poverty, respond to natural disasters and civil unrest, alleviate hunger, deal with the AIDS pandemic, and support good governance and economic polices.

The page was developed to support the discussions of poverty and debt reduction for African countries during the Group of Eight Industrialized Nations (G-8) summit in Gleneagles, Scotland July 6-8.
