Verizon Wireless Drops 800MHz Objections

Verizon and Nextel dismiss all legal actions and claims against each other

Verizon Wireless recently announced that it will no longer oppose the FCC's decision to realign the 800 MHz band, including Nextel's receipt of spectrum in the 1.9 GHz band.

Nextel also agreed to forego any trademark and other ownership rights to the phrases "Push To Talk," "PTT," and all related "PUSH" names -- allowing both companies to freely use these phrases in their marketing.

The two companies have agreed to dismiss their pending lawsuits against each other, and release each other from all other existing claims.
