No Wrong Door is a Web-based initiative to simplify and improve service delivery to Virginia's older and/or disabled adult population. The program is a highly collaborative effort between multiple state agencies, local agencies, and private providers. The No Wrong Door process creates a 'one-stop' service approach and ensures that everyone has the same access to information and resources on long-term care, regardless of the first point of entry into the system.
"This recognition of excellence in innovation by the Virginia Department of Aging and all of the participating partners in the No Wrong Door initiative is well deserved," Kaine said. "This project illustrates how our state agencies are working together and thinking innovatively about how they provide services, now and in the future."
No Wrong Door enables efficient coordination of client information, service referral and case management and maximizes human and financial resources. It harnesses technology to effectively share knowledge, unite multiple services and providers, and simplify processes for both the consumer and provider.
"The ultimate benefit of No Wrong Door will be increased independence and improved quality of life for seniors and adults with disabilities," said VDA Commissioner Julie Christopher. "I thank Governor Kaine and Health and Human Resources Secretary Marilyn Tavenner for their vision and support around the No Wrong Door initiative. I also want to especially thank those local Area Agencies on Aging that have been instrumental in working with their local communities to develop the Virginia No Wrong Door concept."
