Washington State Adds to DIS Team

Jim Albert, Matthew Krieger coming on board

Gary Robinson, Washington state's director of information services this morning announced the appointment of two new members of the DIS team.

"Jim Albert will be joining DIS as the deputy director of operations, effective March 8th," said Robinson. Albert was previously director of the Information Services Division for the Attorney General's Office and the Customer Advisory Board (CAB). "Jim was instrumental in developing and implementing the Project Management Framework for the CAB and has been a key contributor to the Enterprise Architecture Committee of the Information Services Board.

"Prior to his work as director of the Information Services Division at the Attorney General's Office," said Robinson in a release, "Jim was with the Office of Financial Management (OFM). While at OFM he served as the lead for computer applications for both OFM and the Governor's Office. He has also worked for Washington State University in Administrative Computing and was a programmer and a machine operator at Service Center 2. Jim brings with him a strong customer focus and will help us take customer service to the next level."

Krieger to Lead DIS GMAP Implementation
Robinson also announced that Matthew Krieger will be joining DIS at the beginning of March, coming from OFM. He previously worked as a consultant for Sterling Associates and as deputy administrator for the city of Bellingham. "He will principally support the Director's Office, the Management Team, and the Government Management, Accountability, and Performance (GMAP) project.

"The Governor's Executive Order on GMAP, that was issued earlier this week, specifically directs DIS to develop tools and technology to aid agencies in implementing GMAP. Matthew will take the lead for us on this initiative.

"Mike McVicker will return to his previous position as assistant director for the Telecommunications Services Division," continued Robinson. "Susan Hettinger will continue in her position as deputy director for Management and Oversight. In addition, Becci Riley, Laura Parma and Gail Douglas will continue in their positions as assistant directors. Nancy Jackson will also continue in her role as our communications services director."
