"This portal is just another step in improving customer service and making state government run more effectively and efficiently," Wise said. "Now, many of our state services can be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week."
By logging onto the portal West Virginians can access information about starting a business, searching for state employees and agencies and locating tourism events and places of interest. Consumers also will have the ability to create a personal profile, allowing them to customize the state's portal to display local weather reports, trout stocking or lottery numbers.
"Customer service always has been a main focus of my administration," Wise said. "I want to make doing business in West Virginia a little easier, and this e-portal will provide better access to information and resources."
Wise also praised the GOT and IS&C employees for their work in developing the site. GOT recently relocated it offices to join IS&C under one roof as part of the Governor's restructuring plan.
"Our technology team collaborated with state agencies, higher education, the Legislature and the Board of Public Works to create this one-stop online shop, but this isn't the final step," Wise said. "Improving customer service means constantly working to make all of state government work better for the citizens of West Virginia. These offices are an example of what can be done when we work together."
Wise urged all citizens to try the new e-portal and provide feedback as the portal continues to grow.
