CBP to Host 3-Day Event to Recruit Technology Specialists

Recruitment of information and technology personnel.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection is hosting a recruiting event April 1-3 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. to recruit information and technology personnel including: information technology specialists, telecommunications specialists, chemist/textile analysts, physical scientists and general engineers. These positions will support CBP's office of information and technology.


The event will be held at the Hilton Springfield at 6550 Loisdale Rd., Springfield, VA 22150. All applicants should apply on-line before the event to one of the open positions listed on the CBP Web site and bring a resume and other required forms to the event. ( Top 11 Positions ) Applicants will be considered as follows:

 

Information security specialists hiring event - Tuesday, April 1, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
IT and telecommunications specialists hiring event - Wednesday, April 2, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Chemists, textile analysts, physical scientists and general engineer hiring event - Thursday, April 3, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Applicants must be a U.S. citizen and a U.S. resident for the past three years and be able to pass a background investigation. The grade levels vary from entry to senior level.


The event will feature subject matter experts to provide information regarding the positions, staffing specialists to qualify applicants, and on-the-spot interviews for those who are deemed highly qualified.


CBP's information and technology office is responsible for supporting business processes with the design, development, programming, testing, implementation, training and maintenance of CBP automated systems.


These positions support the CBP mission to secure U.S. borders.
