Chicago Housing Authority Launches Tenant Relocation Software

A software system for automating tenant relocation services

The Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) recently announced the successful launch of its Tenant Relocation Services Application, a software system for automating tenant relocation services.

The CHA is nearing the mid-point of the Plan for Transformation, a $1.6 billion effort that will result in a total of 25,000 new or rehabbed units of public housing. Before building or rehabbing these units, CHA must relocate its residents. This is the largest relocation project of its kind. To accommodate everything from a senior citizen's special needs to ever-changing housing unit availability, CHA required a software system able to automatically adjust in real-time across all stages of the relocation process. With Agentis' AdaptivEnterprise Solution Suite, CHA created a business application that makes decisions in real-time, based on current tenant preferences and relocation needs.

"The CHA application is an example of an adaptive business solution," said Daryl Plummer, vice president and chief fellow of Gartner Inc. "Tenant relocation services continue uninterrupted despite changing housing availability, tenant preferences, and regulations."

As business requirements change, the application can be modified incrementally at any stage to stay in sync with business needs. The goal-seeking agent manages execution paths and exception handling in real-time, system tasks that usually have to be pre-coded in conventional systems.
