The company has hired Alison Lake, a former managing editor at the Maryland Public Policy Institute, to be its bureau chief. She will cover federal government information technology practices and policies for Public CIO, Government Technology and Emergency Management magazines.
"The growing impact of federal policies and practices in IT throughout the public sector, combined with our expanding editorial coverage, has made it imperative that we open a bureau in the heart of the world's single largest government IT market," said Tod Newcombe, editor of Public CIO. "With Alison Lake as our bureau chief, we have an experienced journalist who is familiar with government, policy issues and IT."
In response to growing demand for its award-winning intergovernmental coverage of technology issues in the public sector, eRepublic has expanded the frequency of Public CIO to six times per year and is launching Emergency Management, a quarterly magazine providing leadership and expertise to public officials responsible for emergency joint operations and planning. Government Technology, a monthly publication, has been covering state and local government IT solutions and strategies for over 18 years.
