According to President Ellen Chaffee, this means that many on both campuses will be involved in the changeover process during 2002-03. Most other campuses will not be that involved at the campus level until the following year. "Our selection is an honor and an opportunity, one that I vigorously pursued on our behalf," President Chaffee said. It will not be easy or filled with glory on a daily basis, she said, but it will be well worth it.
President Chaffee has agreed to several "loaned executives" to help with the implementation process not only at our campus level, but for the system as well. Their time spent will range from 10-15 days per year to 35 percent of their time per year during the next 12-24 months. Their ERP assignments are in the areas of Human Resources, Student Systems, or Finance.
The list from Mayville includes Joyce White, 35 percent, HR; Karen Amundson, 35 percent, HR, Payroll; Keith Stenehjem, 35 percent, Student, Campus Community; Janice Jorgensen, 10-15 days, Finance, Accounts Payable; Brian Larson, 10-15 days, Student, Admissions; and Shirley Hanson, 10-15 days, Student, Financial Aid. The list from VCSU includes Bill Ament, 35 percent, Finance, Accounts Payable; Bill Ament, 35 percent, Finance, Purchasing; Joan Noeske, 35 percent, HR, FSA; and Dan Klein, 35 percent, Student, Admissions.
President Chaffee indicated that since these people are all "exceptionally valuable to us for campus purposes" and it will be difficult to manage in their absence, the budget for ERP implementation includes funding that will allow us to provide assistance in their office areas to help offset the loss of their time. They will be available at the all-campus budget/ERP meetings on 4/25 at MSU and 4/30 at VCSU to explain their views on the assignment and how we will cope.
President Chaffee also indicated that we are working toward the development of a web site that can be everyone's primary 24/7 information source on ERP.
