.eu Domain Registrations Begin December 7
Fully open to the public in April 2006
Last month Eurid -- the independent organization selected by the European Commission to operate the new registry for .eu -- announced that its first phase of registrations for the new top level Web domain .eu will begin on December 7. This marks the start of a 4-month "sunrise" period during which only the holders of existing trademarks or other prior rights may register.
