NASCIO Reports Findings from Recent Nationwide Architecture Tour of the States

New report summarizes tour and presents highlights

The National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) has released an Enterprise Architecture Assessment Tour Report to state CIOs and other officials. This resource can be downloaded at NACIO's Web site.

NASCIO's Architecture Working Group (AWG) conducted the assessment tour to facilitate the evaluation of government enterprise architecture programs and create opportunities for collaboration. The NASCIO's Enterprise Architecture Maturity Model was used as the basis for evaluating the enterprise programs in ten states, one county, and one federal agency. This report summarizes the tour and presents some of the highlights from the presentations and discussions that took place during the assessment visits.

"NASCIO's Architecture Working Group visited 12 government sites and gained great insight into how enterprise architecture programs are actually working in state, federal and local government settings. The shared knowledge and discussions contained in the report will be of great value to government technology practitioners. We plan to do additional visits during the next year," said Tom Jarrett, Delaware CIO and NASCIO president.

Funding for the project was provided by a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice, the Bureau of Justice Assistance, Office of Justice Programs.
