On-Line Driver's Licensing Options Prove Successful

Thousands of drivers initiate transactions over thanksgiving holiday.

The Department of Driver Services (DDS) reported today that over five thousand (5,139) Georgia drivers conducted their licensing business from the comfort of their home or office over the recent holiday via the Agency's website www.dds.ga.gov.

"DDS has created a quick, secure and convenient way for our customers to conduct their licensing business anytime of the day or night - even during holiday closings.  By allowing thousands of Georgians to initiate a change of address or other transactions on-line means we will have a better ability to more quickly serve those who must come in person to one of our centers," said DDS Commissioner Greg Dozier.

DDS customers may also monitor their scheduled road test reservations, access the most recent version of the Georgia Driver's Manual and provide customer feedback at www.dds.ga.gov.

*DDS sends out Automated Renewal Applications to those that are eligible to renew on-line (or via mail) about 60 days before the license expiration.  The Application contains individualized instructions for renewing a license without a trip to a customer service center (CSC).
