Description: Separate and sealed bids will be received at a meeting of the Highland Sewer and Water Authority at their office at 120 Tank Drive, Johnstown, PA 15904, until 7:00 p.m., Prevailing Time on 4/2/2002 at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud for the following contract: Contract S-45- Sanitary Sewer Sliplining and Repairs Area 1: Cherry/Euclid Area 2: Christy/Erickson/Arbutus Heights Under this Contract, the Contractor shall furnish all materials, equipment, supplies, labor and plant required for: a. Cleaning and internal television inspection of sanitary sewer lines. b. Maintaining flows in the existing sewer lines during construction with by-pass pumping or other suitable methods. c. Sliplining approximately 14,500 Lf of designated sewer mains and laterals. d. Replace and repair designated sewer lines. Copies of the specifications may be obtained at the office of The Eads Group, Inc., 450 Aberdeen Drive P.O. Box 837, Somerset, PA 15501-0837, upon deposit of Fifty Dollars (50.00), which price includes 6% Pennsylvania Sales Tax for each set. No Refund will be Made on the Documents. Specifications are on file both at the office of the Eads Group, Inc. and the office of the Owner for viewing by interested bidders. A certified check, payable to Owner, or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and the Surety Company, in an amount equal to ten percent (10 %) of the bid, shall be submitted with each bid. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish satisfactory Performance and Labor and Material Payment Bonds. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids. The successful Bidders) will be required to fully complete all work within 150 consecutive calendar days form, and including, the date indicated by the Owner in their written Notice to Proceed. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project. All Bidders on this work will be required to comply with the contract Compliance Regulations of the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, 16 PA Code Chapter 49 and with all laws prohibiting discrimination in hiring or employment opportunities. The Owner reserves the right to waive any informalities and to reject any or all bids. The Contract awarded under this Advertisement for Bids is to be funded by Local Funds Only. A non-mandatory pre-bid conference for this Contract will be held at the Authority's office on 3/26/2002 at 10:00 a.m., Prevailing Time. Prospective Bidders may discuss the project at that time.
