RapidDeploy, Cloud-Based 911 Dispatch Vendor, Raises $29M

The company is growing quickly, with more than 650 call center clients across the country using its dispatching, mapping and analytics software. Now it's raised its second investment round since 2019.

RapidDeploy, a fast-growing startup offering cloud-based dispatch software for emergency responders, has raised $29 million from investors — bringing its total to $41 million since 2019.

“Over the last two years, we have fulfilled statewide contracts in Arizona, California and Kansas, while implementing our platform in over 650 911 centers across America,” said CEO and co-Founder Steve Raucher in a statement. “This investment allows us to continue our trajectory and make data-driven Unified Critical Response the industry standard.”

RapidDeploy offers three products to emergency response organizations, all focused on dispatch: the Nimbus computer-aided dispatch (CAD) solution, the mapping software RadiusPlus, and Eclipse, which can be used to run analytics on how 911 call centers are operating.

The company’s products offer emergency response teams a bevy of data becoming more common in the U.S. through Next-Generation 911 efforts, such as data from cellphones and vehicles, as well as location information that can help responders find callers more quickly.

The Series B investment round was led by Morpheus Ventures. Other participants included GreatPoint Ventures and Samsung Next — which together invested $12 million into RapidDeploy in its 2019 Series A round — as well as Ericsson Ventures, Tao Capital Partners, Tau Ventures and Clearvision Ventures.

“The future of emergency services is in data, which creates a faster, more responsive 911 center,” said Mark Dyne, managing partner at Morpheus Ventures, in the statement. “We believe that the platform RapidDeploy has built provides the necessary breadth of capabilities that make the dream of Next-Gen 911 service a reality for rural and metropolitan communities across the nation and are excited to be investing in this future with Steve and his team."
