City Innovate published more than 50 challenges from state and local governments across the country. Tech companies will now have the opportunity to propose solutions for the governments to try out.
Startup in Residence, the national program that pairs startups with state and local governments in order to solve problems with modern technology, has published more than 50 challenges for its next cohort.
The challenges are, in effect, problems for which companies can pitch solutions. The state and local governments participating will then choose the pitches they like best and work with the startups to test their ideas out.
The deadlines vary by challenge, but the bulk of them are taking applications through Nov. 20.
As in years past, the governments include cities, counties, states and special districts spanning the country. The challenges cover a diverse array of subject areas, from tree planting to homeless shelters to tax delinquency.
City Innovate, the organization that runs STiR, will continue adding challenges as time goes on, but the initial batch can be found below.
