Bytemobile, a leading global provider of dynamic optimization solutions for mobile phone operators, recently expanded its server portfolio to offer its customers greater processor and operating system choices to effectively consolidate multiple, interoperable IP network services on a single blade server platform.
"Our telecommunications technologies and user adoption are advancing rapidly, with more complex IP-based data services such as multimedia and full-HTML web browsing that require more computing power to process than ever before. Therefore, our optimization solutions and the platforms that support them need to keep pace with consumer demand," said Christian Gabetta, senior technical director at Bytemobile, Inc. "By adding the IBM BladeCenter platform for the delivery of Bytemobile solutions, we can better serve our customers with a cost-effective, high-speed, scalable hardware platform that meets their present and future throughput requirements."
Bytemobile selected IBM's BladeCenter system to enhance its current network infrastructure offering. The company chose IBM over competing vendors because of IBM's rock-solid services and support, which gave Bytemobile access to experts who could customize a solution that would meet each customer's heterogeneous environment. The new solution adds IBM's AMD Opteron-based BladeCenter systems running Linux, Microsoft Windows or Sun Solaris 10 operating systems, offering some of the best performance-per-watt ratios in the industry and enabling Bytemobile to easily port existing applications to one scalable data center footprint.
