When a Gateway-equipped ambulance arrives at a hospital, it has taken the fastest, satellite-guided route, has wirelessly transmitted patient information to the ER in advance, and has printed a patient care record on-board the vehicle -- all of which provides critical data to emergency personnel at the speed necessary to save lives.
Piedmont Triad Ambulance and Rescue is a franchise of Guilford County EMS, which also has deployed In Motion's onBoard Mobile Gateway in county-operated emergency vehicles. Because the Gateway has been deployed throughout the area, emergency dispatchers now have the unparalleled ability to identify the closest emergency vehicle to an incident scene, regardless of whether it is operated by Guilford County or Piedmont Triad Ambulance and Rescue.
Since 1971, Piedmont Triad has provided Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Support (ALS), rescue service, convalescent and wheelchair transport services, and "stand-by" service for special events in the Piedmont Triad area. Its mission is "to provide the best possible care for patients by providing the best equipment and training for our personnel."

The onBoard Mobile Gateway is deployed in more than 90 communities nationwide and provides emergency vehicles with mobile, secure, wireless communications. The Gateway senses and selects the best available wireless network, enabling first responders to access and disseminate critical information from the field.
