A solar-powered pre-WiMAX base station installed 8,000 feet up in harsh environmental conditions makes AirTegrity's solution the highest altitude pre-WiMAX deployment in the nation. This was errected prior to the company's current WiMAX solution.
Proximetry, Inc., a provider of wireless performance management solutions, and AirTegrity Wireless, a developer of industry-leading broadband wireless communication solutions, today announced general availability of their integrated, easy-to-manage, Wi-Fi and WiMAX broadband connectivity solution for metro-area wireless networks.
"WiMAX offers enormous potential for enterprises and emerging carriers seeking to provide high-performance, high-bandwidth wireless access to the Internet," said Greg Phillips, CEO/CTO, AirTegrity. "The combination of AirTegrity's WiMAX-in-a-Box system and Proximetry's AirSync software platform can help to seamlessly integrate WiMAX into campus and metro-area network environments as part of an overall high-performance, high-bandwidth access technology."
"There's a significant gap facing service providers and enterprises deploying emerging wireless broadband solutions," said Tracy Trent, president and CEO, Proximetry. "By integrating Proximetry's wireless performance management solution, for highly distributed, multi-protocol wireless networks to work with AirTegrity's secure wireless broadband solutions, we enable efficient operations of a broadband multimedia delivery service that meet the most stringent performance requirements."
General availability builds upon 18 months of field testing which has adapted AirTegrity's wireless technologies into a variety of environments such as public safety, energy, and transportation settings where access to performance-critical applications such as voice, video, and telemetry services are crucial to business continuity. The integrated solution complements service provider solutions for high-speed Internet access while enabling the opportunity to offer "carrier-class" services for enterprise clients and environments.
