Improves communications, ensuring requests for services or information are tracked and properly routed to the correct city department.

Anaheim Anytime, Anaheim, California's newest customer service initiative, officially launched yesterday providing citizens with an easy-to-use way to access city services from any computer.

The system improves communications, ensuring requests for services or information are tracked and properly routed to the correct city department.

"We have opened a new City Hall in Anaheim - the 21st Century Virtual City Hall," Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle announced. "We are now open for business 24-hours a day, seven days a week, whether you are seeking service at City Hall or online via our Web site."

Citizens can enter a request, suggestion or comment at any time on the city's Web site, , by clicking the Anaheim Anytime logo. These requests are automatically routed to the appropriate city staff using software from Government Outreach.

After requests are made, citizens will receive an e-mail with a tracking number and estimated response time.

A preliminary survey of 100 users showed that 81 percent rated employee effectiveness as "superior" or "good;" 86 percent rated time to respond as "superior" or "good;" and 91 percent rated employee courtesy as "superior" or "good."

Anaheim Anytime provides a list of 150 service topics to choose from, ranging from Animals to Zoning. Examples of requests already fulfilled include tree trimming, noise violation, traffic signal repair and sidewalk maintenance.
