According to the company, unlike earlier generations of Wi-Fi based mesh networks, their systems provides over 6 times the range compared to competitive Wi-Fi based mesh systems. Where there are trees or dense foliage the 900MHz signals will provide much longer range than traditional Wi-Fi based systems. This superior range capability dramatically reduces the total number of units required per installation and therefore the total deployment costs.
Utilizing the standard high gain omni-directional antenna, radio links of three (3) miles between units are possible. When extended ranges up to twenty (20) miles are needed, our directional antenna option provides outstanding network configuration flexibility.
The system features a 902-928MHz, broadband (48Mbit/sec.) mesh radio, for connectivity between units, and a 2.4GHz, 802.11/g access point for user level service. Each unit is easily reconfigured as a wireless or optional weatherproof wired Ethernet gateway to available Internet connections.
The low latency mesh network provides an ideal solution for data intensive real-time applications. The encryption protocols and web-based authentication ensures that only authorized users are permitted access to the network.
