Airspan Networks Inc. announced today that it has been awarded a contract by the Polish telecom operator, Multimedia Polska S.A., to expand its network offering to provide wireless voice and data services using its WiMAX technology.Multimedia, a leading communications provider in Poland, already provides digital television for cable subscribers. Airspan's HiperMAX and MicroMAX base stations and customer premises equipment will enable Multimedia Polska to enhance its customer offerings by delivering broadband triple play services to a wide customer base in both urban and suburban regions throughout Poland.
Andrzej Rogowski, chief executive officer of Multimedia Polska S.A., said, "Airspan and its world class WiMAX solution will allow us to make substantial headway in the highly competitive Polish telecommunications market. This initiative will enable Multimedia Polska to build its position as one of the leading and most innovative telecom operators in Poland today."
