Now 795 users and 200 mobile units can now quickly enter data into online reports, wirelessly filing the information.

Patron Systems, Inc. has announced the deployment of its state-of-the-art information sharing, mobile field reporting solution for the Rochester, N.Y. Police Department. The agency plans to use the reporting system to increase accuracy and speed availability of data.FormStream from Patron Systems is an information sharing platform using e-forms-based mobile reporting capabilities. FormStream allows secure electronic form creation, completion, processing and management in a mobile environment. It replaces the time-consuming process of completing paper reports manually and sending them from channel-to-channel until they reach the records management system. Using the mobile field reporting solution, 795 users and 200 mobile units can now quickly and easily enter data into online reports, wirelessly forward the information to record systems and share information with other third parties.

The Rochester Police Department serves a population of approximately 214,000 in New York's third-largest city. "To police officers, timing and accuracy is critical. We need current, correct information to maximize an officer's time in the field and ensure their safety," said Rochester Police Captain Melvin Perez. "We were impressed with the system's advantages and the efficiencies gained and positive experiences of other agencies using FormStream."

To minimize costs, FormStream was integrated with Rochester's existing back-end systems. The software's flexibility and self-management characteristics will allow the department to customize forms and tailor the information flow to meet the agency's requirements today and adapt to changing demands in the future. "Every minute a police officer must spend on administrative paperwork is one less minute available to protect public safety," said Patron Systems CEO Braden Waverley. "Patron Systems is pleased to provide a solution that streamlines data collection, reduces errors and strengthens the connection between officers in the field and supporting agencies."
