"Digital divides are still very prevalent throughout the world today. While technologies such as WiMax and 3G might be good solutions for some parts of the world, for many other parts, the capital expenses of deploying these networks cannot be justified from a business perspective. With NanoStation, we set out to develop a product that would redefine the business cases for deploying wireless data networks in these parts of the world. From a price/performance perspective, we strongly believe NanoStation is the product that has the potential to bridge the digital divides that have traditionally been past over by wireless operators and we are very excited about the possibilities this product brings." said Robert J. Pera, president of Ubiquiti Networks.
The NanoStation is available in two separate models that operate in the 2.4GHz and 5GHz worldwide unlicensed bands. The product features numerous innovations including a four-way hi-gain smart antenna system utilizing Ubiquiti Adaptive Antenna Polarity (AAP) Technology. Using the internal antenna system, link distances beyond 15km can be achieved. The NanoStation also contains an external antenna option where range can be extended beyond 50km. In field testing, real-world TCP/IP throughput has exceed 25Mbps.
NanoStation is powered by Ubiquiti's AirOSTM featuring enhanced wireless and routing features, multi-language support, and an elegant user interface which can allows for a quick and painless installation process.
NanoStation carries FCC and CE certification and is now shipping with a MSRP of $79.
