It has some famous actors in the film. Generally, I think some will like it and others will "just hate it" because of the satire contained in it.
The there are several parts that rang true to me. There does seem to be all sorts of warnings of dire consequences that are given to elected leaders. Climate change for one has terrible consequences—but, those consequences will come long after the next election and the one after that too. We can keep doing what we are doing a long time before any finger of blame is pointed at us. There is money to be made in the meantime.!
What is different about this film and the warning is that there is a specific date and time for the calamity to happen. Even with that the warning is ignored for a period of time. The people issuing the warning are ignored by most people who don't want to be distracted.
The one time specific warning in our immediate past that did get attention was Y2K. That happened likely because of how businesses reacted and paid attention to the threat
Back to the movie, there is this wacko social media tycoon who is creepy, but rich. We never really get to see his demise, but I think if they had played it out...we would have—in the movie anyway.
As for the tycoon, he found a way to make trillions of dollars from the oncoming calamity and that is what drove future decisions.
I don't want to be a spoiler on the outcomes so I'll just end it with I liked the satire of the whole thing.
