They came close to running out of water. It is not just farms, golf courses, and lawns that might be impacted. I know of a major communications center in Seattle that evaporates 80,000 gallons a day in order to keep everything cool and working appropriately.
We all know about the impacts of what happens when the electricity stops working, but we have not experienced all the ramifications of when the tap does run dry. Those dependencies will be revealed!
Perhaps 2022 will be one of those unseasonably wet years in California and the rest of the West, but I'm betting that does not happen.
