I've lived through Texas ice storms back in the 1970's. Nothing moves on the road! They don't have the snow and ice treatment capabilities of the northern states. So everyone basically, freezes in place.
If you recall, 2021 there was a deep freeze event for much of Texas that put the spotlight on their electrical grid failures and the energy system in Texas.
