As of Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009, entry to restricted areas of Puget Sound, Portland (OR), and San Francisco Bay Ports will require a Transportation Worker Identification Credential ("TWIC card"). As of that date, access will only be granted to those carrying TWIC cards, without exception.

This U.S. Department of Homeland Security identification program is required for all truck drivers, as well as Port employees, terminal operators, longshore workers and others who require regular, unescorted access to restricted areas and vessels. Learn more and apply online at www.tsa.gov/twic , or contact the TWIC Help Desk at 1-866-347-8942.
