Vancouver Canada Has its Own Big One

Not to be outdone by Seattle.

I'm sure there was a media person in Canada who figured that Vancouver, B.C. must have a significant earthquake risk equal to that of Seattle's and the recent and noteworthy New Yorker article on The Really Big One.

See one article on the threat to our compatriots to the north, Vancouver after the big one: 7.3-magnitude earthquake would kill nearly 10,000 and injure 128,000, experts say

The one thing missing on the United States side of our common border with Canada is a similar study of our capabilities that includes a call to action for government to pay more attention to our seismic risks and capabilities.

Note that the scenario used for the Vancouver event is a surface fault which is more destructive than a Cascadia subduction fault that is perhaps hundreds of miles away.  The equivalent for Seattle is the Seattle Fault
