Add Aliens to Your List of Hazards

One more THIRA or HIVA section to write.

As we get ready to wrap up 2017, it would be appropriate to start a new list of things to do for 2018. You might start out with something that I don't think anyone has done (in addition to recovery planning), that is planning for the alien invasion that is sure to come ... someday. This news story highlights your initial reference for the risks that might be encountered when aliens arrive from outer space (I'm not talking Mexico), The government admits it studies UFOs. So about those Area 51 conspiracy theories …

Possible options to consider for any alien planning that you do:

Mitigation: Try to learn their language so you know what to offer them to eat. Sharing a meal is always a good way to break the ice.

Response: We are Americans and we have a lot of guns, so guns must be an answer. Shoot first, learn the language later. As one book on Guns for Preppers said, "You can never have too much ammunition."

Preparedness: Stockpile guns and ammunition. You need plenty of range time for practice shooting.

Recovery: Pick up all that brass left on the ground from all the shooting you did, so you can reload it for the next phase of the alien invasion.

Resilience: If all that shooting does not solve the problem, investigate how that mission to Mars is coming along so you can relocate. Maybe FEMA will have a "buyout program" for people wanting to leave Earth.

Last tip: Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, don't shoot the big fat man in the red coat, he is not an alien. On second thought, fast-moving object, defies any technology or physics as we understand it today, and he most likely did not go through customs! Reload ...
