Alaska Airlines Putting Cargo in Passenger Seats

Repurposing passenger planes for cargo.

I caught a quick radio news item that highlighted Alaska Airlines, a Washington state business, taking passenger planes and utilizing them for air cargo. This is what I would call "adaptation" and taking the lemons life gives you and making lemonade.

When you think about the cargo hold that would normally carry luggage, that space is available for regular air cargo, which is also sometimes flown on passenger planes. They are also putting cargo in passenger seats. "Please fasten your seat belts!" They noted that these planes will not be carrying passengers.

Too bad, at least you could fully recline your seat back. I think the cardboard box behind you would not mind!
