Amazon Leading the Way in Robotics

Amazon has been on a hiring binge for the last few years. The majority of these tens of thousands of people are those who work at fulfillment centers. Today they are augmenting that workforce with some robots that move items around warehouses and deliver them to real people who take items off shelves and get them ready for shipment, see this YouTube video from the last Christmas season, Meet the robots making Amazon even faster. I appreciate what the spokesperson at the end of the video says about not replacing, but augmenting, their employees, but ... then see this recent Puget Sound Business Journal article on new patents from Amazon, Amazon seeks to patent robots that pick and pack warehouse shelves.
