Billion-Dollar Natural Disasters

This is an inventory of the costliest United States natural disasters.

While death and taxes may be the only guarantees in life, the increasing cost of natural disasters also provides a predictable future for the United States and the world.

NOAA has put together this Billion-Dollar Weather and Climate Disasters: Table of Events, which allows you to sort disasters by type going back to 1980. Then there is also this picture book from CNN, which highlights the 10 most expensive disasters for 2015

For 2015 my tally was: Fire-1; Drought-1; Tornado-4; Flood-3; Snow-1. Each of these exceeded a billion dollars in cost.
