California Wildfires and Rolling Brownouts

California wildfire season is in full bloom.

Heat, lots of it and lightning strikes have ignited multiple fire storms across the state of California. See this CAL FIRE map.

There hundreds of additional wildland fire fighting personnel and equipment being sent from other states and Australia to help with the firefighting.

The high temperatures have also set rolling brownouts, which we have not seen for a number of years. These planned electrical system reductions indicate that there is not enough power to service all the electrical needs in a defined geographical area.

This makes me think about all the residents who fight having electrical power lines strung along power company rights-of-way. I'll bet that when these NIMBYs start having brownouts themselves, they might start singing a different tune.
