Center for Regional Disaster Resilience (CRDR)

This posting provides a good summary of our current activities.

For many years now I have tried to foster regional approaches to the complex problems that disasters present to communities and businesses.  In my current position as the Director, Center for Regional Disaster Resilience (CRDR) which is part of the Pacific Northwest Economic Region (PNWER) it gives me an opportunity to work on regional solutions for most of the work that we do.

You can get a feel for what the CRDR is involved with currently by reading our latest quarterly update, Regional Partnerships Foster Disaster Resilience  I am still working to find some meaty issues that cross our common state and international boundaries that have meaning and relevance to people and organizations facing similar problems.  Some very good work has been done in the past on maritime issues in the Pacific Northwest and I think that is the type of works we need to orient our efforts towards.

I'm also a strong believer that the CRDR can be a leader in climate adaptation strategies for those disaster issues that will be accentuated by a warming climate.
