COVID-19: 83,000 Cases and Climbing

83K was the national total on Friday.

On October 17th, we were at 70,000 coronavirus cases a day. In a blog post back then, six days ago, I said we'd blow through 100K cases in the coming weeks. see COVID-19: A Pandemic of Denial.

Friday, October 23rd the new fall record is 83,000 daily cases. There is nothing in the current trend of cases for me to think that all of sudden cases will drop. I keep watching for the Florida case count to just "explode" because they have ditched all attempts to contain the virus and opened up for business. Really?

90,000 cases by election day is totally possible and we might even approach 100K cases the way things are shaping up. Note, the death count for yesterday was back over 1,000.

Wear a mask, social distance, wash your hands...don't hug anyone except the people you live with in your home, and vote!
