Critical Infrastructure Protection Resources

There are several resources that you might find of interest.

The following comes from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and might provide you with some resources you have not had access to in the past.

 

DHS/IP recently announced the availability of a new web-based independent study course and Critical Infrastructure Toolkit designed for use by government and private sector critical infrastructure stakeholders at the local and regional levels. The Implementing Critical Infrastructure Protection Programs (IS-921) and related Critical Infrastructure TOOLKIT are available free of charge through the FEMA Emergency Management Institute (EMI).

IS-921 Implementing Critical Infrastructure Protection Programs is designed to provide the tools and techniques needed by individuals with critical infrastructure protection responsibilities for both government and private sector organizations at the Federal, State, local, and regional levels. The content covers a range of topics including: forming partnerships, sharing information, managing risk , and ensuring continuous improvement for critical infrastructure protection and resilience programs. The three-hour training carries .3 continuing education credits.



TheCritical Infrastructure Toolkit supports IS-921 and is a resource for infrastructure owners and operators at the local and regional levels to enhance their ability to prepare for, protect against, respond to, and recover from the full range of 21st-century threats and hazards. The interactive resource includes a brief overview video introduction to content and critical infrastructure definitions; a guide for conducting tabletop exercises to evaluate infrastructure protection and resilience plans; exercise scenarios; and how to engage in infrastructure protection partnerships. Links to online reference materials, training resources, and videos related to infrastructure protection and resilience are also included in the toolkit
