DHS Acting Secretary Chad Wolfe Not Officially Appointed to His Position

Crossing T's and dotting I's can be important.

Perhaps the most outstanding aspect of the last 3.5 years of presidential leadership is the clear evidence that:

  1. Elections do matter
  2. Governing according to the laws of the land is harder than winning an election
See this Politico story, GAO finds Chad Wolf, Ken Cuccinelli are ineligible to serve in their top DHS roles.

I can confidently predict for you that nothing will change because of the Government Accountability Office ruling, since it goes to the Department of Homeland Security inspector general, one of most endangered classes of positions with zero relevancy in the Trump administration.

Accountability is not a strong suit in the administration. Don't let silly procedural rules get in the way of what you want to do. We may have to follow them, but for some, they are above the rule of law.
