What I’m impressed with is the speed of the notification getting to the right people quickly so that they have time to react to a disaster.
Yes, it requires a device to get the warning, but when you think about having to send responders to knock on doors or not knowing if the Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) is getting to the people who need to be warned, it is a great solution.
I like it specifically for wildfire situations, flash flooding when it is time sensitive, and lastly for earthquake actions. In this latter case, not so much for warning people, but getting a digital signal to equipment that can immediately take actions to shut down processes, open elevator doors, etc.
