Disasters People Never Imagined or Considered

People move to places oblivious to the disaster risks of that region or specific location.

Yes, every area of the United States has disaster risks to be considered. However, you can mitigate those risks by the individual location where you choose to live and the type of home you choose to live in. Unfortunately, people are lured by water, views and proximity to nature that doesn’t care who you are and what your individual desires are.

Thus, there are those who end up like Diane, who’s story is below:

“Diane Dorsey, 57, and her family moved to Fort Myers in 2019 from Maryland, considering it a pre-retirement adventure, never imagining what devastation a hurricane could bring. When the storm sent one river rushing past the front of her house and another through the backyard, Ms. Dorsey ordered her daughter to grab the family photo albums and head upstairs.”

Actually, I think post Hurricane Ian there are a bunch of Dianes reconsidering their previous choices.
