Distributed Ledgers, or Blockchain by Another Name

I had always thought of blockchain as being specifically associated with bitcoin. However, the uses of the "distributed ledger" technology is going to expand rapidly for many other functions. Likely you will hear about the technology being applied to other aspects of our functioning society.
