DZTV: University Emergency Management Programs

This Disaster Zone TV show is about the University of Washington's emergency management program.

Colleges and universities are like small cities. What makes them a bit different is the populations that make up their "city." Don't expect to see that many seniors and adult care facilities on campuses. But there are more similarities than differences. Unfortunately there have been acts of violence on college campuses and they are subject to the same natural hazards that the rest of the community might experience.

Just last week I had the opportunity to interview Steve Charvat, the director for the University of Washington's Emergency Management program. I think you will find it very informative. You can view the show here at Emergency Management at the University of Washington
